Tonight I'm playing a show for the first time in two months.
Our band usually plays at least once a month, so this break has been kinda weird. My bandmates live an hour and a half away from me, so we only really see each other at practice or shows. It was nice to see them last weekend when we practiced, but to be honest, I was dreading the actual practice itself. I always forget how much I love playing guitar if it's been a while, but once we play together, I'm reminded how special it is to be in a band. Also, we usually practice in their city, which means I'm guaranteed to be in the car for at least three hours that day, which isn't fun when you already aren't excited for practice.
I'm a little anxious about the show because we're playing with a very well-known band in our genre. It's kind of a big deal for us, and one of those 'pinch me moments'. I think I'm mostly anxious about how long it's been since we've played a show, but I'm prepared, so it'll be great. Now I just need to pick an outfit :p.
