Being a tenant is tough sometimes

My mom moved into a new house today. Only thing—the air conditioning isn't working. We live in a very hot state, so it got up to 90 degrees in the house, which was just horrible as we moved her in. Thankfully, I only live a few houses down the street from her, and I have an extra room, so she's able to stay with me until it gets fixed. The crazy part is that she can't find anyone to fix the A.C. until Tuesday (it's Saturday). Her landlord isn't being very helpful either, which I think is just unacceptable.

Being a tenant is tough sometimes. I, of course, rent too. I can't afford to buy a house, so I am subjugated to be a renter for the foreseeable future. Luckily, each apartment complex I've lived in during my adult life have had reliable and punctual maintenance teams in case of emergencies. I realize that has been a quiet luxury.

So, I'm feeling bad for my mom right now. Her landlord at least tried, but we've hit a wall in our attempt to get a technician to come out. There's nothing to be done now, except wait.

I hope any tenants who may be reading this are safe, and have adequate resources/support in case of household, or general emergencies. I know there are tenants unions across the country (I live in the US, btw), so it might be worth a quick check to see if one is near you.

Happy renting, lol. ;P
