The Typing Pool

Firstly, I'd like to explain the meaning behind the name of this blog. One of my favorite albums of all time is Tender Buttons by Broadcast. I encourage you to take a listen if you'd like, I fear you won't regret it. There was one song in particular on the album that had always been special to me: Tears In The Typing Pool. I have always loved the song, but I especially love the lyrics. Here's a snippet:

Interpret the rooms
My tears in the typing pool
The letters are sighing
The ink is still drying
I told you the truth
And now I sigh too
The page turns on me and you
Across that white plain
The land is unchanged

For a long time, I put my own meaning behind the lyrics, but I never knew what they were intended to mean. I found the title of the song to be so cool, that when I set out to start a blog of my own, it was the first name idea I had. Then I realized if I were to name this blog The Typing Pool, I better know what it even meant. After I found out, I knew the name was perfect. To give you context, I plan to make a separate post about what exactly a typing pool is. Although, you can skip that read, and look into it yourself, because it is truly fascinating, at least I think so. There you have it! I hope you like the name just as much as I do. It has been said before, and I will continue to say it a million times over, thank you so much for stopping by.
